Fundamental test B:Measuring the refractive index and Cauchy relation in transparent solid and liquid materials
The fundamental test B(Zhuhai Division)of the 9th Chinese Undergraduate Physics Experiment Competition(CUPEC)was measurement of the refractive index and Cauchy relation in transparent solid and liquid materials.The experiment test were based on basic knowledge of optics and optical experiments,the level of achievement of participants were explored in the following four experimental objectives:mastery of controlling optical experimental instrument,mastery and flexible application of complex optical paths,examination of the ability to use least squares fitting technique to analyze experimental data,error analysis ability.The candidates need to complete the experimental design,and measure the refractive index of transparent solid and liquid materials,fit the correspond-ing Cauchy relationship.
