Automatical measurement of mass fraction of transparent solution based on classic optics
Based on classic refraction and dispersion theory,a prism-shaped container was de-signed to shift the light path.Furthermore,an automated real-time mass fraction measurement setup was developed. The displacement sensor was adopted to improve the accuracy of spot displacement measurement instead of using the traditional observation screen. The dynamic, automatic and intelli-gent data measurement and processing were realized by combining the data acquisition card and Lab-VIEW software.Based on classical optical theory, the relation between refractive index and mass frac-tion was established, and the mass fraction of various transparent solutions and each component in mixed solutions could be measured in real-time.The device could realize real-time automatic monito-ring of the mass fraction of single, mixed and flowing transparent solutions. The experimental results were in good agreement with the theoretical results.
