Statistical analysis of thirty years of national social science foundation economics funding project:1991-2021
The National Social Science Fund of China(NSSFC)project is a significant symbol of comprehensive research competitiveness and academic productivity level in social science research in China.Based on the national macroeconomic development context,from 1991 to 2021,11 916 economic projects funded by the NSSFC were selected as the research sample for this study and examined statistically using bibliometric and content analysis methods.During the sample period,the following characteristics of the projects funded by the NSSFC were found:the national economic development and funded projects were complementary to each other,the number of funded projects showed an upward trend,the number of general projects was dominated by others,the quantity of applied economics projects exceeded that of theoretical economics projects but the proportion of the two projects trade-off from each other,the number of funded projects exhibit an unbalanced distribution in the eastern,central,and western of China,the professional qualifications and the project approval probability appear in the shape of a"pyramid".Scholars with senior titles have become the mainstay of the NSSFC.Based on the above,this study adopted the keyword frequency statistics method,social network analysis,and semantic network analysis method,combined with Python to statistically the word frequency of basic information of the project.By generating word frequency statistical spectra and word cloud pictures,this study analyzed the emphasis and hotspot trends of the projects funded by NSSFC,such as high-quality economic development in a digital environment-oriented manner,rural revitalization,industrial innovation and transformation.
