The current situation of supervisor-graduate relationship and its influence on self-efficacy
The foundation of supervisor-graduate relationship is one of the most important parts of graduate students training process.In this research,786 graduate students from 3 universities in Tianjin were surveyed.The results showed that(1)the self-made scale of Graduate-supervisor Closeness,which was made intended to rank the quality of graduate-supervisor relationship,has a good reliability and validity.With this instrument,it is found that the current graduate-supervisor relationship is only a little higher than the middle level,which means there is still room to build a better relationship between the supervisor and the graduate students.(2)The current study self-efficacy of graduate students is lower than the middle level,which is far away from the ideal condition.(3)The level of Graduate-supervisor Closeness significantly influences the level of study self-efficacy of graduate students.Combined all of the conclusions,it is found that the mechanism of the influence of graduate-supervisor closeness on study self-efficacy needed to be researched intensively in the future,in order to enhance the study self-efficacy condition of graduate students through the way of improving their graduate-supervisor closeness.
