Analysis on the main adverse pregnancy outcomes in pregnant women with diabetes in a grade A tertiary hospital in Anhui Province
Objective:To analyze the relationship between hospitalized patients with gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM)and the main adverse pregnancy outcomes for theoretical evidences for clinical prevention and improvement of pregnancy outcomes. Methods:By retrospective cohort study,3199 pregnant women(including 237 GDM patients and 2962 patients with no GDM),delivered on hospitalization basis in a grade A tertiary hospital in Anhui Province, were recruited from January 1,2019 to December 31,2021.The pregnancy outcomes and other information were retrieved from each of the pregnant woman. Results:The inpatient prevalence rate of GDM was 7.4%among the hospitalized pregnant women.Logistic regression analysis showed that the risk of macrosomia in the GDM group was 2.97 times higher than that in the non GDM group(95%CI:1.89-4.67,P<0.001),and the risk of premature birth in pregnant women in the GDM was 1.99 times higher in group than in the non-GDM group(95%CI:1.08-3.66,P=0.028).Conclusion:GDM can increase the risk of macrosomia and premature birth, which are two kinds of adverse pregnancy outcomes.Health education on gestational diabetes should be carried out for women of childbearing age to reduce the incidence of GDM.
