Status and influencing factors of family resilience among primary caregivers of children with refractory epilepsy
Objective:To investigate the status and influencing factors of family resilience among primary caregivers of children with refractory epilepsy. Methods:We included 162 children with refractory epilepsy admitted to our hospital and their primary family caregivers between January 2020 and December 2022,and collected their general information.Family Resilience Rating Scale,Social Support Rating Scale and Self Efficacy Scale were used to survey these primary caregivers and investigate whether social support and self-efficacy were the factors affecting family resilience. Results:The scores of family resilience, social support scale and self-efficacy scale for the primary caregivers were(73.28±12.23),(33.10±4.19)and(22.56±5.23)points,respectively.Pearson correlation analysis showed that the family resilience of primary caregivers was positively correlated with social support and self-efficacy(P<0.05).Multivariate regression analysis showed that short treatment course for the children, high education level of primary caregivers, good employment status, high family monthly income, social support availability and self-efficacy were protective factors for the family resilience primary caregivers. Conclusion:The family resilience of primary caregivers is relatively at a low level, and affected by the treatment duration of the children, educational level of the primary caregivers, family monthly income, employment status, social support availability and self-efficacy.
