Preliminary discussion on applying integrated curriculum to online teaching of obstetrics and gynecology
Objective:To investigate applying integrated curriculum to online teaching of obstetrics and gynecology.Methods:The undergraduates,majoring in medical imaging enrolled in 2017,were included and randomly assigned to 2 teaching classes(observational group and control group).Students in the observational group received online teaching with integrated curriculum,and those in the control group were given conventional online instruction.Rain-classroom was used to conduct the questionnaire survey on the teaching feedback,and the groups were analyzed pertinent to the results in after-class tests and final exams.Results:88.0%of the students approved the online teaching with integrated method,and 90.0%and 86.0%respectively considered that this teaching motivated their learning interest and learning efficiency.Students in the observational group had higher scores in after-class test than those in the control group[(17.98±1.34)vs.(17.24±1.38)points,P<0.001)],whereas scores on the final term examination remained no significant difference between groups[(87.57±7.73)vs.(86.97±7.35)points,P>0.05)].Conclusion:Applying integrated curriculum to online teaching can effectively improve the quality of teaching obstetrics and gynecology.
