Mediating role of rumination thinking between social support and depression in early pregnant undergone drug-induced abortion
Objective:To investigate the mediating role of rumination thinking between social support and depression in women of early pregnancy undergone drug-induced abortion. Methods:A survey was conducted from May 2020 to May 2023 in the 329 early pregnant women with planned drug-induced abortion in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department of our hospital located at the norther area of Wuhu City by using the Patient Health Questionnaire-9(PHQ-9),Ruminative Responses Scale(RRS),and Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS).Results:Depression was negatively correlated with social support(r=-0.261,P<0.01),and positively with rumination thinking(r=0.425,P<0.01),yet social support was in negative correlation with rumination thinking(r=-0.201,P<0.01)in the early pregnant women undergone drug-induced abortion.Social support can negatively predict depression(β=-0.252,P<0.05),whereas rumination thinking can positively predict depression(β=0.235,P<0.05).Rumination thinkingaccounted for 28.3%of the total effect in mediating effect between social support and depression in early pregnant women with planned drug-induced abortion. Conclusion:Social support can not only directly and negatively affect the depressive mood of the early pregnant women undergone drug-induced abortion, but also negatively affect the depressive mood of the patients through the mediation of rumination thinking
