Impact of disease progression fear on post-traumatic stress disorder in patients with early gastric cancer after ESD:A chain mediating effect of psychological resilience and coping styles
Objective:To analyze the chain mediating effect of psychological resilience and coping style on PTSD in patients with fear of disease progression after endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD)for early gastric cancer. Methods:Questionnaire survey was conducted on 254 patients with early gastric cancer following ESD using the Psychological Resilience Scale,Medical Coping Style Scale,Fear of Disease Progress Questionnaire Simplified Version and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Scale-Civilian Version.Results:① The scoring was respectively 45.63±7.52 for PTSD,34.85±5.67 for fear of disease progression and 51.39±6.42 for psychological resilience in the 254 post-ESD patients with early gastric cancer;② There was a positive correlation between PTSD and fear of disease progression, and a negative correlation with psychological resilience and coping style(P<0.05);③The chain mediating effect of fear of disease progression on PTSD in patients after ESD surgery for early gastric cancer was established. The total indirect effect accounted for 39.18%of the total effect,of which the mediating effect was 20.94%for psychological resilience,13.45%for coping style and 4.79%for psychological resilience, respectively. Conclusion:The chain mediating effect of psychological resilience and coping style between fear of disease progression and PTSD was established, confirming that fear of disease progression can indirectly influence PTSD by modulating psychological resilience and coping style.
