Analysis of the risk factors for frailty in patients with digestive system tumors and construction of the risk prediction model
Objective:To investigate the risk factors for incidence of frailty in patients with digestive system tumors, and construct a model to predict the risks of frailty and verify the predictive effect in this group of patients. Methods:Digestive system tumor patients treated in our hospital were included from January to November of 2023.All patients underwent survey by general questionnaire response,Adult Nutrition Risk Screening(NRS2002),Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group(ECOG)scale,Groningen Frailty Indicator(GFI)and Numerical Rating Scale(NRS)for the risk factors for incidence of frailty, and modeling group data were used to investigate the frailty.Receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was mapped to construct the prediction model, for which was verified using validation group data. Results:The frailty rate was 32.04%in the 181(126 males,55 females)digestive tumor patients.Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that age(OR=1.060;95%CI:1.008-1.116),higher ECOG score(OR=3.583;95%CI:1.926-6.667),and malnutrition(OR=4.105;95%CI:2.508-6.717)were risk factors affecting frailty in patients with digestive system tumors. The area under ROC curve was 0.910 in the prediction model, with sensitivity and specificity being 0.741%and 0.911%,respectively.Conclusion:The established prediction model can effectively predict the risks of frailty incidence in patients with digestive system tumors. This prediction model has good performance and can provide certain guidance to developing frailty intervention measures in this group of patients in clinical practice.
