Application of BOPPPS mode plus scenario simulation method in the teaching of Prosthodontics
Objective:To investigate the effect of BOPPPS mode plus scenario simulation method in the teaching of Prosthodontics.Methods:Sixty undergraduates majoring in stomatology,enrolled in our college in 2020,were included,and randomly allocated to two classes.Class 1 and 2 were set as observational group(n=30)and control group(n=30)respectively.Students in the control group were taught by conventional teaching procedures,and those in the observational group were instructed by BOPPPS mode plus scenario simulation method.Comparison was made between two groups regarding students'learning initiative,professional knowledge test score,skill test score,clinical reasoning ability and satisfaction with teaching effectiveness.Results:Students in the observational group had higher scores than those in the control group in terms of learning initiative total score,dimension scores of learning motivation,learning goal and in-depth learning,clinical reasoning ability and professional knowledge test(all P<0.05).The satisfaction survey showed that students in the observational group gave better evaluation regarding overall satisfaction,teaching design,time arrangement,teaching procedures and improvement of problem-solving ability(all P<0.05).Conclusion:BOPPPS mode plus scenario simulation method has high recognition rate among students and is worth recommending,because it can fully arouse students'learning initiative,improve their clinical reasoning ability and enrich their professional knowledge.
