Application of psychological nursing based on NNN-linkages in elderly patients with infectious diseases
Objective:To observe the effects of psychological nursing based on NANDA-I,NOC,and NIC(NNN)linkages on psychological status and quality of life in elderly patients with infectious diseases.Methods:Eighty-six elderly patients with infectious diseases were enrolled, and divided into control group and observational group(n=43 for each group).Patients in the control group received routine nursing care, and those in the observational group were given routine care plus NNN-linkage based psychological nursing. The two groups were then compared concerning the psychological status and quality of life using the Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD),Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA),Short Form-12 Health Survey(SF-12),and Modified Barthel Index(MBI)before discharge. Results:Both groups had lower HAMA and HAMD scores at discharge versus at admission(P<0.05),yet HAMA scores were significantly lower in the observational group than those in the control group(P<O.05).The scoring on MBI and SF-12 quality of life was higher at discharge versus admission in both groups(P<0.05),whereas SF-12 and MBI scores were significantly higher in the study group compared to the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Psychological nursing based on NNN-linkages can effectively improve the psychological status and quality of life in elderly patients with infectious diseases.
