Application of scenario simulation plus Mini-CEX hybrid teaching method in students undergoing internship in obstetrics and gynecology
Objective:To observe the effect of scenario simulation-mini-clinical evaluation exercise(Mini-CEX)hybrid teaching method in the medical students undergoing internship in obstetrics and gynecology.Methods:Eighty undergraduates undergoing internship in our department from our college were recruited between December 2021 and December 2022 and randomly assigned to experimental group and traditional teaching group(n=40 for group)based on their sequence of entering clinical practice.The experimental group received scenario simulation-Mini-CEX hybrid teaching method,and the traditional group underwent traditional teaching method.After completion of internship training,all students underwent Mini-CEX assessment,teaching satisfaction survey and self-evaluation questionnaire.Results:The Mini-CEX assessment scores of the experimental group students(including medical interview,physical examination,humanistic care and other dimensions)were significantly higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).The overall satisfaction,learning interest,self-learning ability and learning retention were also significantly higher in the experimental group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The hybrid teaching method can enhance the learning interest,improve the assessment scores,and increase the satisfaction of the undergraduates undergoing internship in obstetrics and gynecology.
