A method for simultaneous determination of formaldehyde and acetaldehyde in surface water by using Purge and trap gas chromatography was established. Under the optimized experimental conditions, the linear relationship between the standard solution of formaldehyde and acetaldehyde in the range of 0. 00 to 50. 0μg/L was good, the correlation coefficient was greater than 0.999, the average recovery rate of water sample was within 92. 5% ~ 104. 7%, the relative standard deviation was less than 2%, the detection limit of the method is 0. 03μg/Land 0. 06μg/L. This method is easy to operate, high concentration multiplier, low detection limit, good precision and accuracy, and no use of organic reagent in the analysis process. It was suitable for the analysis and determination of formaldehyde and acetaldehyde in surface water.
