A solid phase extraction-gas chromatography method for the determination of trichloroacetaldehyde in surface water was established. The effects of elution solvent, p H value of water sample and sodium chloride addition amount on the extraction efficiency were investigated. The experimental results showed that there was a good linear relationship between trichloroacetaldehyde and chromatographic peak area in the concentration range of 0. 00-50. 0μg/L. The standard recoveries were between 94. 2% and103. 9%. The relative standard deviations of the seven determination results were less than 3%. The method was simple, high sensitivity, accurate measurement results, good precision, low detection limit, suitable for the determination of trichloroacetaldehyde in surface water.
