According to the propagation mechanism and dispersion characteristics of Lamb waves in solid media, the feasibility of using single mode Lamb waves to detect defects in ZrO2 ceramic plates was explored by constructing a Lamb wave detection model for ZrO2 ceramic plates. For longitudinal cracks, the Lamb wave S0 mode is more sensitive than the A0 mode and its attenuation is small, with a long propagation distance. In this pa-per,the S0 mode Lamb wave is selected to detect crack defects in ZrO2 ceramic plates. The results show that there is a positive correlation between crack depth and echo signal amplitude; The crack direction is negatively correlated with the amplitude of the echo signal within the range of 0°to90°;The farther away the crack defect is from the sig-nal source, the smaller the amplitude of the echo signal. This paper provides a theoretical basis for using single mode Lamb wave to detect defects in ZrO2 ceramic plates.
