Qualitative Study on the Perception of Nursing Undergraduates'Training Process during the Mid-term Clinical Internship in Traditional Chinese Medicine Colleges
Objective To learn the cognitive situation and real feelings of nursing undergraduates(hereinafter referred to as nursing students)in the mid-term of their clinical internship at Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine,and to provide theoretical basis for improving the training mechanism of nursing students'clinical internship.Methods 8 nursing students in the mid-term of their in-ternship were selected for semi-structured interviews to collect and analyze data with purposive sampling.Results A total of 3 themes and 7 sub-themes were extracted including clinical teaching issues,reflected in internship arrangements,teaching methods,assessment content and methods.The psychological state during the mid-term internship is reflected in negative emotions and aca-demic and work pressure.Personal growth and development are reflected in improving professional skills and career development in future.Conclusion The mid-term assessment during the internship is a comprehensive evaluation of nursing students'theoretical knowledge,clinical abilities,and physical and mental conditions.Schools and hospitals should refer to the relevant needs of nursing interns to improve their internship arrangements,care about their mental health,enhance their professional skills,strengthen their sense of professional identity,and ensure the stability of the nursing personnel team.
