Investigation and Analysis of Employment Status of Nutrition Professionals with Different Educational Backgrounds
Objective To investigate and analyze the employment status of nutrition professionals with different educational back-grounds,and provide reference for the cultivation and development of high-level nutrition personnel in China.Methods A question-naire was designed using the Wenjuanxing online platform and distributed in the class groups of each graduating class to investigate the employment situation of food hygiene and nutrition graduates from Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine from 2008 to 2020,including basic information,employment after graduation,and work status.Results There were significant differences(P<0.05)in the employment prospects of nutrition professionals with different educational backgrounds.Undergraduate were mainly employed in hospitals and healthcare institutions,while masters were mainly employed in nutrition related enterprises.Doctors were mainly em-ployed in universities and research institutions.There is a significant difference(P<0.05)in the distribution of employment areas for dif-ferent educational backgrounds.The main employment area for undergraduates is Shanghai,the main employment area for masters is Shanghai and overseas,and the main employment area for doctors is overseas and in Shanghai.Graduates have higher job satisfaction than undergraduates(P<0.05).Conclusion The education backgrounds of the nutrition professional personnel team needs to be fur-ther improved.Encourage nutrition professionals to go to places where the country and the people need them."Double advanced-class"universities urgently need to explore the establishment of a"integrated undergraduate and graduate"nutrition personnel training system.
