Investigation on the Status of Health Literacy among Elderly with Chronic Diseases in the Community and Research on Influencing Factors
Objective To investigate the status of health literacy among elderly with chronic diseases in the community(hereinafter referred to as"elderly with chronic disease in community")and analyze the influencing factors,laying a good foundation for the devel-opment of targeted intervention plans in the future.Methods Convenience sampling was used to survey elderly with chronic disease in community with General Information Survey Forms,Health Literacy Scale for Chronic Disease Patients,and The Scale of Health Self-management Skill for Adults.Results The score of elderly with chronic disease in community Health Literacy Scale for Chronic Disease Patient was(73.95±23.43)score,which was at a relatively low level.The score of the Scale of Health Self-management Sk-ill for Adult is(98.85±35.20)score,which is at the middle level.Multiple linear regression analysis shows that age,education level,whether the permanent residences often pay attention to their own mental health status,sports status,whether they have searched their own health information on the Internet,and health self-management ability are the factors that affect the health literacy of the elderly with chronic diseases in the community.Conclusion The status of health literacy among elderly with chronic diseases in the com-munity urgently needs improvement.Community managers should pay attention to it and develop intervention plans and implement in-tervention measures based on influencing factors,gradually improving the health literacy of elderly with chronic diseases in the com-munity.
