Analysis on the Status and Needs for Medical and Health Services in Nursing Homes:Taking Demonstration City Elderly Care Service Institution in Xuzhou City as Example
Through questionnaire surveys and interviews,gain a further learning of the status of medical and health services in a nursing home and the needs of residents,and propose improvement measures based on the survey results.The results showed that over half of the elderly were satisfied with the hygiene conditions of the nursing home canteen and accommodation.There is a significant occupational difference in the frequency of cleaning living areas in nursing homes,with employees of government agencies and insti-tutions,as well as those without workers,having fewer cleaning times in their living areas compared to agricultural workers and enter-prise employees.Nursing homes provide less frequent and irregular physical and mental health check ups for the elderly.The frequen-cy of healthcare workers providing health care to the elderly is uncertain.The medical and health services provided by this nursing home are still unable to meet the needs of the elderly residents.Nursing homes can provide professional training for institutional staff,regularly check the physical and mental health of the elderly,provide regular health care,increase investment in health services,and optimize the elderly care service system.
