Research on the Correlation between E-health Literacy and Health-promoting Lifestyles among Elderly in Shandong Province
Objective To investigate the status and influencing factors of E-health literacy among elderly in Shandong Province,explore the relationship between E-health literacy and health-promoting lifestyles among elderly in Shandong Province,and provide scientific reference for strengthening digital health services for the elderly under the background of active aging.Methods A random sampling method was used to conduct a questionnaire survey of 1 001 elderly from 16 cities in Shandong Province,including Yantai City,Binzhou City,Qingdao City,and Liaocheng City,from October 2023 to January 2024 with General Information Survey Form,the E-health Literacy Scale(eHEALS),and the Health Promoting Lifestyles Profile-ⅡRevised Version(HPLP-ⅡR)Scale.Results The total score of elderly E-health literacy was(23.33±7.89)score,with an average score of(2.92±0.99)score for each dimension.The average scores for each dimension were:application ability of network health information and services(2.94±1.03)score,evaluation ability(2.88±1.06)score,and decision-making ability(2.86±1.24)score.Pearson correlation analysis showed that the E-health literacy of the elderly was positively correlated with the health-promoting lifestyles(r=0.596,P<0.01).Multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that age,gender,residential area,education level,medical insurance types,marital status,per capita monthly income of the family,current physical health status,total score of health-promoting lifestyles,interpersonal relationship behavior,and stress management behavior were the influencing factors of the E-health literacy of the elderly(P<0.05).Conclusion The E-health literacy level of the elderly is relatively low,and there is a significant positive correlation between E-health literacy and the health-promoting lifestyles.Social medical workers and family members should intervene from the influencing factors of E-health literacy to improve the E-health literacy level of the elderly and thus improve their health-promoting lifestyles.
