The Mediating Effect of Newly Graduated Nurses'Transformation Shock on the Relationship between Psychological Resilience and Work Readiness
Objective To explore the status and correlation among transformation shock, psychological resilience, and work readi-ness of newly graduated nurses, and to clarify the relationship model among them. Methods A total of 327 newly graduated nurses from 10 Grade-A hospitals in Guangzhou province were surveyed from May to August 2023 with General Information Survey Ques-tionnaire,Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale,Newly Graduated Nurses'Transformation Shock Scale, and Chinese version of the Graduate Nurses'Work Readiness Scale.Pearson correlation analysis was used for statistical analysis, and a structural equation model was constructed with AMOS 23.0 software. Results The 327 newly graduated nurses'total score of the Newly Graduated Nurses'Transformation Shock Scale was(86.57±25.15)score,the total score of the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale was(61.44±16.69)score,and the total score of the Chinese version of the Graduated Nurses'Work Readiness Scale was(257.48±43.71)score.There is a positive correlation between the scores of the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale and the Chinese version of the Graduated Nurses'Work Readiness Scale(r=0.672,P<0.001),and a negative correlation with the scores of the Newly Graduated Nurses'Transformation Shock Scale(r=-0.360,P<0.001);There is a negative correlation(r=-0.310,P<0.001)between the scores of the Chinese version of the Graduated Nurses'Work Readiness Scale and the Newly Graduated Nurses'Transformation Shock Scale. The newly graduated nurses'transformation shock partially mediates the relationship between psychological resilience and work readiness(β=0.200,P<0.001),accounting for 29.15%of the total effect. Conclusion The newly graduated nurses'work readiness is at a moderate to high level.Nursing managers can actively take measures to improve newly graduated nurses'psychological resilience and reduce their transformation shock to enhance their work readiness.
