The Impact of Reflective Practice on Clinical Nurses'Ability to Identify Patient Risks
Objective To explore the impact of reflective practice on clinical nurses'ability to identify patient risks,and to provide reference for developing training programs related to reflective practice and improving clinical nurses'ability to identify patient risks.Methods Convenience sampling was used to survey clinical nurses in three Grade-Ⅲhospitals in Jiangsu province in April 2024.The survey was conducted with General Information Questionnaire,Self-assessment Questionnaire for Clinical Nurses'Ability to I-dentify Patient Risks,and a Chinese version of the Reflective Practice Questionnaire.Results There is a correlation between clinical nurses'reflective practice and their ability to identify patient risks.Surgery,work experience of more than 20 years,external training experience,peer support among colleagues in the undergraduate department,and reflective practice are factors that affect clinical nurses'ability to identify patient risks.Conclusion Clinical nurses need to improve their ability to identify patient risks and reflec-tive practice,and reflective practice has a positive impact on their ability to identify patient risks.It is recommended that nursing edu-cators and managers fully evaluate the reflective practice ability of clinical nurses,fully leverage the power of senior clinical nurses,and carry out reflective practice related training to create a good departmental atmosphere and a safe working environment,thereby improving the ability of clinical nurses to identify patient risks and the quality of nursing services.
