Investigation on the Cognition and Teaching Needs of Emergency Nursing Course for Nursing Undergraduates in Public Health Emergencies
Objective To investigate the cognition and teaching needs of nursing undergraduates towards Emergency Nursing course for public health emergencies,provide a basis for the first establishment of this course at Chengde Medical University,and explore new paths for cultivating personnel of emergency nursing.Methods Based on the Emergency Nursing course system constructed by expert consultation in starting stage,a survey questionnaire on the cognition and teaching needs of Emergency Nursing course for public health emergencies was developed,and a questionnaire survey was conducted among Grade 2021 nursing undergraduates of Chengde Medical University.Results 71.58%of nursing students believe that offering Emergency Nursing course for public health emergencies is very important.The ranking of emergency nursing knowledge needs for nursing students from high to low is as follows:nurses'occupational protection knowledge,ethics and health laws and regulations knowledge,common nursing knowledge of infectious disease emergency,emergency response knowledge for public health emergencies,intervention knowledge of psychological crisis,and knowledge of disaster rescue emergency.The most expected teaching method for nursing students is virtual simulation teaching method,and the most desired ability is emergency preperation ability.Conclusion Nursing students have a good learning of Emergency Nursing course,and Emergency Nursing course should focus on vocational protection education,health laws and regulations education,and respiratory infection prevention and control education.At the same time,scene based teaching method should be enriched to improve the comprehensive emergency response ability of nursing students.
