Research on the Employment and Career Development Status of Graduates Majored in Preventive Medicine
Objective To investigate the career development of graduates majored in preventive medicine from Xi'an Medical University from Grade 2018 to 2022,analyze their employment status,identify personnel capacity gaps,and provide reasonable suggestions for the cultivation of preventive medicine personnel in universities.Methods A self-designed questionnaire was used to investigate the employment status and personnel cultivation quality of graduates.The questionnaire was conducted online and included three modules:basic information and employment status,satisfaction with post,and post competency.Results Most of the 171 people who have already worked chose to work within the public sectors.The top 3 satisfaction levels of post from high to low are:family recognition and support,stability,and colleague relationships.The top 3 levels of dissatisfaction from high to low are:attractiveness,reward mechanism,and development prospects.In terms of basic job skills:weak abilities in official document writing,data processing,and literature retrieval.In terms of public health service capabilities:the basic physical examination ability,community health planning ability,and maternal and child health care ability are relatively weak.Conclusion The employment situation of undergraduate graduates majored in preventive medicine in the survey unit has been good in the past 5 years.Personnel cultivation should be reformed as soon as possible based on demand,and efforts should be made to increase the cultivation of students'practical and operational abilities in colleges.
