Research of Sinusoidal Magnetic Ring Magnetic Gear Based on Magnetic Network Method
The magnetic gear suitable for high-speed operation was proposed, and its magnetic adjusting ring had a sinusoidal profile. To study the performance of such magnetic gears, the magnetic network method was introduced, which discretized the calculation area, facilitated the description of irregular boundary conditions, and an equivalent magnetic network model was established.A comparative study was carried out on the air gap magnetic density, peak torque,steady-state torque and eddy current loss of rectangular magnetic block gears and sinusoidal magnetic ring gears. The results demonstrated that the magnetic network method was generally in accordance with the finite element results, albeit with some deviations in local areas. The relative errors of the peak torques of the inner and outer rotors of the sinusoidal magnetic flux modulation ring were 12.95%and 14.9%respectively.Compared with traditional structures, the peak torque of the sinusoidal magnetic ring gear was decreased by 15%,and the eddy current loss was reduced by 29%,which verified the potential application prospects of the proposed structure at high speeds.
