Three-dimensional Magnetic Field Analysis of Single-sided Linear Induction Motor
To address the issues of discontinuous primary winding current density, inaccurate phase and low accuracy in air-gap magnetic field analysis of linear induction motor(LIM),a three-dimensional(3D)model of the primary winding magnetomotive force(MMF)for a single-sided LIM was established using the primary extension model.A continuous current density model with accurate phase angle, accounting for the half-filled slots at the ends of the primary windings was derived.Based on Maxwell's equations, the vector potential equation in the air-gap region of the single-sided LIM was solved, yielding a 3D analytical solution for the air-gap magnetic field. The influence of the end effect on motor thrust was analyzed using the air-gap magnetic field results.A comparison between the 3D analytical results and finite element 3D simulation results showed a high degree of consistency, validating the accuracy of the continuous current density model. This demonstrates that the 3D MMF-based magnetic field analysis method can effectively improve the accuracy of air-gap magnetic field solutions and the precision of electromagnetic thrust calculations in single-sided LIMs.
