Research on large-scale 3D geological model sharing technology based on 3D Tiles
With the lack of research on network sharing and publishing of 3D geological models,a large-scale 3D geological model sharing and publishing scheme is proposed based on 3D Tiles:First, the half-edge folding algorithm based on the quad-ratic error measure(QEM)is used to simplify the model and establish a hierarchical LOD model; Then use the method of quadtree with vertical fixed distance segmentation to divide models at all levels, and establish a tile hierarchical structure tree; Finally the required geometric error, transformation matrix and other parameters are calculated, and the 3D Tiles tile content and tile set description file are generated.Based on this scheme,a 3D geological body model of about 1,000 square kilometers in a certain area was selected for experiments.Experiments show that this scheme can efficiently and smoothly display large-scale 3D geological models while ensuring the geometric features and details of the model.
