Research and development of 3D visualization of connecting-well section based on spatial features of well traces
The connecting-well Section is a critical stratigraphic correlation and fine reservoir research analysis method.Ai-ming at the problems that the connecting-well section in a two-dimensional display is not stereoscopic and intuitive and that u-sing the vertical projection in three-dimensional space cannot show the spatial curved surface information,an implementation scheme is proposed through the study of the drawing technologies of the connecting-well section in three-dimensional space.According to the seismic data, based on the spatial geometric characteristics of the well traces, the well traces'parameter equa-tion is obtained using the theories of computational geometry and solid geometry, and then the triangular mesh is constructed. The 3D visualization of the connecting well section along the well traces is realized using triangular mesh topology, texture mapping, and lighting model technologies.Good results have been achieved through research and application, which provides a novel 3D visual analysis method for researching the spatial distribution characteristics of reservoirs and the spatial changes of various reservoir physical parameters.
