Exploring the effectiveness of ground-pene-trating radar for lithologic interface delineation application
This paper introduces the working principle of GPR,the parameter selection of RF antenna,the iden-tification and elimination of interference information during data processing,and the analysis of final inversion re-sults.Taking the division of tectonic and quaternary interfaces in the regional seismic safety assessnient project of Qinhuangdao Economic and Technological Development Zone in Hebei province as an example,the application effect of ground penetrating radar(GPR)in the division of lithologic interfaces in seismic safety assessment is discussed by comparing the results of surface wave exploration,seismic mapping and GPR test.Drilling verifica-tion shows that the detection results are in good agreement with the practice,indicating that the method is sui-table for this kind of stratigraphic division work.
