Application of the natural electric field method to the exploration of a fluorite deposits in the shallow covered area of Weichang County
Fluorite deposits are developed in the northern area of Weichang,most of which are hydrothermal filled fluo-rite deposits.The exploration area is covered by loess and alluvial sand and gravel layers,so it is difficult to reach the purpose of searching for ore bodies by conventional geological means.Compared with other geophysical methods,natural electric field method has the characteristics of convenient construction,low cost and fast speed,and has a good effect on finding water-bearing faults in shallow covered areas.Through the comprehensive study of geology and orebody charac-teristics of the mining area,the scope of water-bearing structure was circled by natural electric field for the first time.In the key section,drilling holes were laid for verification,and a thicker fluorite ore body was found.The purpose of searching for fluorite ore was achieved indirectly by sear-ching for water-bearing faults.This provides inspiration and ex-perience for other mines in northern Hebei Pro-vince.
