2023-2024 Excavation of the Luomaqiao Hongguang Porcelain Factory Kiln Site in Jingdezhen,Jiangxi
The Luomaqiao Hongguang Porcelain Factory Kiln Site is situated at the original location of the Hongguang Porcelain Factory in the old town of Jingdezhen City,Jiangxi Province.From 2023 to 2024,the Jingdezhen Institute of Ceramic Archaeology and others conducted an active excavation of over 500 sq.m.area at the site,with concentration on the southwestern,northwestern,and northeastern parts of Area Ⅰ.The project discovered the remains of house foundations,furnaces,ponds,ditches,roads,walls,ash pits,and windlass pits,as well as artifacts such as porcelain(including egg-white glazed,bluish-white glazed,white glazed,celadon,blue and white,and blue glazed),kiln furniture,pottery,metalware,and building components.The excavation gained considerable remains involving the porcelain industry and everyday life from the late Yuan Dynasty to the establishment of the People's Republic of China,revealing the evolution of layouts and functions of the site in different periods,providing significant data for clarifying the development and periodization of the Luomaqiao kiln industry.
