Electromagnetic survey in sacrificial areas of the Sanxingdui site
Since December 2019,archaeological excavations have been conducted near the famous sacrificial pits,K1 and K2,of the Sanxingdui site, and another six newly discovered pits were numbered K3 to K8 sequentially. In order to formulate scientific plans for archaeological excavations and cultural relic conservation,it is necessary to understand the underground buried objects to a certain extent before archaeological excavations.According to the objects unearthed from K1 and K2,we took buried metal objects as detection objects, and used the electromagnetic method in geophysical exploration methods to obtain empirical values. The result shows that the electromagnetic method has certain feasibility for bronze detection and could provide important reference information for early archaeological excavations.
