In order to promote the exploration of the macro settlement form of the Bicun site,the Shanxi provincial Institute of Archaeology started the excavation of the location of Zhailiangshang in the summer of 2023.It lies on the west side of Bicun site and near to the intersection of the Yellow River and the Yufen River,on where the earliest sloped walls and other related remains were discovered.Therefore the date of the stone structure of this site could be traced back to about 4400 years ago.This completed the development chain of settlements of Bicun site during the Longshan era.
