Jade bi and huan are sort of important funerary objects in Taosi culture, generally with a large center hole and diverse forms, most of them are placed next to or worn on the arm of the tomb owner as ornaments. In addition to being influenced by Dawenkou cultures,Jade bi and huan have inherited and developed more local cultural factors, forming its own characteristics and further influencing the surrounding areas of the Jin-Shaan Plateau.Based on the fact that Jade bi and huan are mostly found in the tombs of lower-ranking nobles,it is speculated that Jade bi and huan may have been used as a symbol of wealth rather than a ceremonial artifact representing rank.
