Shangma Cemetery at Houma,Shanxi is an important graveyard of Jin state nobles',where a large number of bronzes of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty were unearthed.Aiming to explore the origin of the lead materials of Jin State during the mid Spring and Autumn period, this study carried out lead isotope ratio analysis on 4 bronze objects from this site. The results show that the lead isotope ratio of these four bronzes are common lead, which are basically same as that used in the bronzes from the late Western Zhou Dynasty to the early Spring and Autumn period in southern Shanxi. The material were probably from the middle reach of the Yangtze River. The lead materials used in Shangma are different with that in bronzes from Wayaopo site, which reflected that the circulation network of bronze materials was complicated during the Spring and Autumn period.
