There were a large number of ancient city bricks inscribed with Hongwu region titles discovered in the ancient city of Datong in March 2018.These characters are rich in content and are extremely valuable materials for study the history of Datong during the Ming Dynasty.By analyzing these brick inscriptions,we could have deep understanding of the constructing of the ancient city during the Ming Dynasty,as well as the structure and function of the guard posts in the Datong area.It could help us to reveal the characteristics of architectural techniques,culture,social structure and so on during the Ming Dynasty,which is of great significance for protecting and understanding ancient Chinese architectures.
