大语言模型ChatGPT系统的出现标志着人工智能从弱人工智能向强人工智能迈进,其卓越的自然语言处理、对话情景理解和序列任务执行等能力将革新翻译实践模式.在ChatGPT的辅助下,翻译效率得以提高,人机交互体验增强,翻译实践范围进一步拓展.与此同时,将ChatGPT用于翻译实践存在使用成本较高、垂直领域翻译精度欠佳、数据安全性不明等挑战.面对这些机遇与挑战,翻译服务产业链相关方需采取措施,如加强成本控制与风险管理、调整翻译技术课程设置与教学内容、深化ChatGPT工具的改进与集成、提高使用技巧与风险防范意识,充分发挥ChatGPT在翻译中的应用潜力.
Abstract
The emergence of the large language model system ChatGPT signifies a shift from weak to strong artificial intelligence.Its exceptional abilities in natural language processing,understand-ing conversational contexts,and executing sequential tasks are set to transform the modes of translation practice.With the aid of ChatGPT,translation efficiency is enhanced,human-com-puter interaction experiences are improved,and the scope of translation practices is further ex-panded.However,employing ChatGPT in translation practices also presents challenges such as high operational costs,subpar accuracy in specialized domain translations,and unclear data se-curity issues.In facing these opportunities and challenges,the relevant parties in the industrial chain of translation services must take measures such as strengthening cost control and risk man-agement,adjusting translation technology curricula and teaching content,improving and integra-ting ChatGPT tools,enhancing usage skills,and safeguarding against risks.These steps are es-sential to maximize the potential application of ChatGPT in translation and to address potential challenges effectively.
