Based on ground-based radar, lunar imaging is beneficial for studying scientific issues such as the Earth-Moon system and the evolution of the solar system, and can provide strong scientific evidence for landing site selection in landing missions. At the same time,it also helps to verify the feasibility of ground-based radar equipment for deep-space exploration.Ground-based radar has advantages such as strong penetration,all-weather,all-time,and low cost.Domestically and internationally,a series of lunar imaging work based on ground-based radar has been carried out.The imaging methods mainly include time-delay Doppler method and interferometric imaging method. At different stages, different ground-based radar equipment and parameters are used to obtain a series of lunar maps with different resolutions. The domestic and foreign ground-based radar equipment and parameters, imaging methods and detection results are reviewed. Finally, the development trend of lunar imaging based on ground-based radar equipment is prospected.
