A Polarized OAM Wave Transmission Array Based on Rotating Element Method
In order to explore a new method of generating Orbital Angular Momentum(OAM),a polarized OAM wave transmission array based on rotating element method is proposed according to the principle of uniform circular array antenna, which can form a rotating electromagnetic field and then generate the polarized orthogonal OAM wave. The proposed polarized OAM wave transmission array is divided into an intermediate layer and an upper and lower layer patch, which consists of 14 transmission elements, with the outer ring containing 9 elements and the inner ring containing 5 elements, evenly spaced axially over a concentric circle. The transmission array makes the electromagnetic wave produce the characteristic of polarization rotation through rotating element,so that the polarization of the electric field can be adjusted in space to realize signal orthogonality,so as to improve channel capacity.Simulation and test results show that the polarization OAM transmission array which operates at 10 GHz has polarization OAM characteristics at the aperture of the transmission array, and the maximum gain of the transmission array is 5.5 dBi.Therefore, exploring polarized OAM waves provides a new possibility for wireless communication.
