Research on Fault-tolerant Stability Control for Electric Vehicles Considering Drive Motor Faults
When the wheel motor or the drive of an electric vehicle faults,the vehicle deviates from the normal driving path,which may cause traffic accidents.In order to solve the problem of wrong driving when the wheel motor system faults,a fault-tolerant stability control scheme of electric vehicle considering the fault of driving motor is proposed.The fault-tolerant control system with Limp Home mode and electronic stability control mode is used when the wheel drive motor faults,so that the vehi-cle can drive straight or turn with low drift.The fault-tolerant control system includes control algorithms for wheel torque dis-tribution and stability,taking motor performance limitation into account.The fault-tolerant control algorithm is verified by CarSim and MATLAB/Simulink simulation software.The experimental results show that the proposed control strategy can re-duce the lateral offset by 88.9%in straight driving conditions and 57.1%in turning driving conditions.Thus,the vehicle sta-bility and safety under the condition of drive motor failure are improved.
