In order to solve the problems of complex design and high cost of traditional phased array antennas,a space-fed two-dimensional phase-scan antenna based on Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface(RIS)was proposed. The antenna uses RIS technology to manipulate the electromagnetic incoming waves from the feed, which realizes high gain and reconfigurability of the antenna beam.Compared with traditional phased array antennas, this antenna has the characteristics of simple structure, low cost and low profile. The antenna prototype consists of a metasurface array containing 1 024 cells,a driver module and a self-supporting feed,in which the metasurface array is controlled in real time through Field Programmable Gate Array(FPGA)to meet the requirement of rapid antenna beam switching and two-dimensional real-time reconstruction of the pattern. Two control states of the metasurface unit have amplitude loss of less than 0.5 dB from6.5 GHz to 10.0GHz,and the reflected phase difference is within180°±5° in the frequency band range from 7 GHz to 10 GHz.The antenna prototype tested gains are 24.72 dBi,24.92 dBi and 25.06 dBi respectively at 7.7 GHz,8.0 GHz,and 8.3 GHz.The antenna±60° scan loss is down to 4 dB.
