User Handover Management of Low Earth Orbit Satellite Internet:Handover Protocols and Algorithms
With the rapid growth of mobile devices and applications, wireless networks need to meet ubiquitous connectivity needs of remote, rural, and urban areas. In comparison to medium and high Earth orbit satellites, low earth orbit satellites operate within a range of 500~2 000 kilometers and offer advantages of low construction cost, wide coverage, low power consumption, and short propaga-tion delay.low earth orbit satellite network has been widely recognized as a potential solution for providing seamless global coverage. However, future low earth orbit satellite network is expected to be large and dynamic, posing challenges for handover management. This paper provides a comprehensive review of recent research on low earth orbit satellite network handover management, describing the han-dover management protocol of 3GPP based on the practical architecture and handover management challenges of low earth orbit satellite network.Additionally,it summarizes algorithms and discusses future development directions for the handover management of satellite internet.
