Application and research of three-dimensional laser scanning technology in the superficial area measurement and calculation of irregular structures
Surface area estimation has important applications in architecture, forestry and medicine. The traditional surface area estimation of target entity is usually based on surface area meter and total station, etc.,but it is often limited by the accuracy of measuring instruments and the complexity of measuring process, which cannot meet the demand for accurate surface area measurement of special-shaped structures. In this paper,three-dimensional laser scanning technology is used to study the theory and technical method of measuring the irregular solid surface area, and a special shaped sculpture is used as an engineering case to verify it.The research results show that the method has the advantages of non-contact,automatic measurement, high precision and working efficiency, which is of great significance for promoting the development of this field.
