Participatory design analysis of community public space in virtual reality
With the rapid development and popularization of virtual reality(VR)technology, the design of community public spaces tends to adopt participatory methods to enhance the democracy and inclusiveness of the design process. This article aims to explore the methods and effects of participatory community public space design in VR environments, and analyzes its potential in enhancing community member participation and meeting diverse needs. The study firstly reviews that the theoretical foundation of participatory design and the application progress of VR technology in spatial design. It is also discussed the challenges faced by VR in participatory design, including the equality of technology acquisition, the friendliness of user interfaces, and the connection between virtual environments and the real world. The research results indicate that VR provides a new and effective tool for participatory design of community public spaces, making the design process more open and iterative, and better reflecting the needs and visions of community members.
