The conventional fault diagnosis methods for protection circuits mainly rely on the analysis of fault characteristic information.However,due to noise interference,there is a certain degree of inaccuracy in the fault diagnosis results.To address this issue,a fault diagnosis method for power system relay protection circuits based on improved wavelet packet decomposition is designed in this paper.Firstly,the waveform characteristics of the fault in the power system relay protection circuit is extracted,and the non-stationary signals in the fault section of the relay protection circuit is also extracted to ensure the accuracy of subsequent fault diagnosis.Then,based on the improved wavelet packet decomposition,a fault diagnosis model for the protection circuit is constructed,and more accurate fault diagnosis components are generated through stacking,reconstruction,and other forms.Finally,to optimize the model,the branch coefficients of the power system relay protection diagnosis model are solved to meet the accuracy requirements of fault diagnosis.The simulative results show that this method has higher accuracy in fault diagnosis and can be applied in practical engineering project.
