Protection and Utilization Strategies of the Canal Cultural Heritage in Wuxi
Cultural heritage has universal historical, artistic, and scientific values,as well as special economic and ideological values.Based on literature analysis, field survey and other research methods, this paper sorts out and statistically analyzes the conservation of tangible cultural heritage along the Wuxi section of the Grand Canal. It is found that there is insufficient content interpretation and excavation, and vague value dissemination in the protection and utilization of cultural heritage. There are many breakpoints in the temporal sequence of the heritage, making it difficult to present the whole picture of the culture. The geographical space of heritage sites is scattered, making it difficult to develop them contiguously.Static displays of static objects are mainly used instead of immersive scene development. Therefore, based on the universal and special value dimensions of cultural heritage, some strategies are proposed to protect and develop cultural heritage, such as strengthening content excavation and paying attention to the value orientation of cultural dissemination, strengthening top-level design to enhance the spatio-temporal continuity of cultural heritage, constructing scene-based themes and developing immersive experience spaces.
