A Study on the Relationship between China's Outward Foreign Direct Investment and Exports of Digital Services Trade
Based on the relevant data of China's investment and digital services trade exporting to countries along the the Belt and Road from 2010 to 2021,a fixed effect model was established to test the correlation, impact mechanism and impact differences between China's outward foreign direct investment and exports of digital services trade. The research results show that China's outward foreign direct investment has a significant positive impact on the export of digital services trade,in which the decrease in trade costs is a major influencing factor. The export promotion effect of outward foreign direct investment exhibits significant national and industry heterogeneity, manifested in a more significant promotion effect on countries with high level of openness to digital services trade, the developed countries and intellectual property services. It is recommended for China to accelerate the implementation of its"going global"strategy, increase its outward foreign direct investment in countries with high level of openness to digital services trade and the developed countries, and strengthen its digital infrastructure construction.
