Frequency Reconfigurable Antenna Based on Liquid Water
A frequency reconfigurable antenna based on liquid water is proposed in this paper. The antenna is fed by microstrip lines and consists of a metal arm,a switch water tank, and a water tank array. The antenna structure is changed by controlling the number and position of water tanks, while changing the dielectric constant of the medium to achieve frequency reconfigurable characteristics.Using Ansoft HFSS software for modeling and simulation, the results show that when the water tank array is not filled with liquid water, the antenna operates at 4.4 GHz.When filling the switch water tank with liquid water and combining different water addition methods in the water tank array,a wide frequency tuning range of 2.92 GHz-5.48 GHz can be achieved. The antenna has a simple structure and low cost, and can be widely used in WIMAX wireless communication.
