Moving Source Localization Based on Doppler Frequency Measurement
In response to the presence of errors in source frequency and sensor location, this paper investigates the problem of moving source localization based only on Doppler frequency measure-ment by observing the source emitted frequency affected by Doppler shift effect on several moving sensors.A two-stage closed-form solution method was proposed to estimate the position and veloc-ity of the source. In the first stage, auxiliary variables are introduced to pseudo-linearize the fre-quency measurement equations and a suboptimal weighted least squares solution is obtained. In the second stage, the relationship between auxiliary variables and source position and velocity is consid-ered,and the estimation error in the first step is modeled. The final source position and velocity esti-mates are then obtained by using the weighted least squares method. The simulation results show that the proposed closed-form solution method can achieve the lower bound accuracy of CRLB at small and medium Gaussian noise levels.
